• Do I need a hearing aid?

If you are having difficulty hearing soft voices, understanding spoken words, or you are asking others to repeat things, you may need help!  You may think others are mumbling, but they're not.  An audiologist can help determine if you have a hearing loss and if you need medical help.

• What kind of hearing aids are there?

This can be a complicated question.  Most people want to know about the shapes and sizes shown on the right.  The guts of a hearing aid are very important and include standard (analog) technology, digitally programmable devices, or 100% digital devices for exceptional clarity.

• What kind of hearing aid do I need?

That depends.  The audiologist in conjunction with your doctor will help you decide which instrument is best for your individual needs.

• How much do hearing aids cost?

Prices range from a few hundred dollars up to several thousand dollars depending on the technology.  Not everyone needs the most expensive device, and conversely not everyone will be helped by the least expensive device.

• What is the first step?

1. Examination by an ear, nose & throat physician
2. Evaluation by one of our licensed audiologists
3. Hearing aid evaluation as necessary
